Ziyad Al-Samman Releases Single 'Bang' Ahead of EP

For Ziyad Al-Samman, music is more than just sound—it's a sanctuary, a deeply personal expression of life’s joys and sorrows. Half-Syrian, half-Jordanian, and based in London, Ziyad's music is a reflection of his rich cultural heritage, filtered through the vibrant lens of psychedelic disco-pop. His debut EP, Pleasure Complex, transports listeners into a colorful, stroboscopic world—an energetic soundtrack to a life we all wish were a little brighter, lighter, and more fun.

Drawing inspiration from hours spent listening to icons like Prince, Pulp, Gorillaz, and Egyptian singer Amr Diab, Ziyad’s sound is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. His music fuses upbeat rhythms with melancholy undertones, crafting an emotional landscape that resonates deeply. It’s not just about dancing—though the grooves are irresistible—but about feeling the joy, the sadness, and the passion woven into every note. A true crooner, Ziyad invites listeners into his emotional universe, where moments of euphoria mingle with a bittersweet longing for love.

In his latest single, Bang, Ziyad takes his signature sound to new heights. The first taste of his upcoming EP Pleasure Complex (set to release in November 2024), Bang is a high-energy, synth-driven anthem that blends indie pop with his unmistakable disco flair. The track explodes with swirling, staccato noise before settling into a rhythmic groove, punctuated by jittery, heavily-filtered vocals. Signed to Yotanka Records, Ziyad continues to push boundaries with his fearless creativity, both sonically and visually.

Bang, according to Ziyad, is about "being driven by love and madness—the chase and excitement of a new relationship." With a nod to David Bowie’s swagger, Ziyad channels a playful yet intense energy, creating a track that is both direct and full of attitude.

As Ziyad prepares to release Pleasure Complex, his boundless creativity continues to shine, extending beyond his music into his captivating visuals and dynamic live shows. Ziyad Al-Samman is quickly establishing himself as a force in indie-disco-pop, and with Bang leading the charge, the future looks brighter and more vibrant than ever.
