It’s been two years since we heard from Mobo award-winning and Brit-nominated Young T & Bugsey and in that time they have both gone through growth and personal changes/
These changes are at the heart of their latest offering ‘Been A Minute’, a new beginning for the duo, but a continuation of their success.
The track is an introspective glance into their state of mind during their break from music and is centred around themes that tie into family life. Growth, maturity and reconnection.
The serene production is made up of upbeat percussion, dynamically played synth notes and smooth jazz elements in the form of a saxophone rift and the occasional piano melody that is reminiscent of Lil Kim’s ‘Lighters Up’
The Nottingham rappers adopt a measured paced BBM on the beat, relaxed and nonchalant as Bugsey speaks on the deeply personal experience of being a father, gaining UK citizenship and early difficulty dealing with labels. Whilst Young T raps about navigating reconnecting with his father and the love he has for his daughter.
The accompanying music is below:
This year, proven by their latest release, shows that the pair have entered a new chapter in their personal lives, and we cannot wait to see how that further manifests in their music.
