Wretch 32 Returns With a Thought Provoking Message On His Latest Single ‘Black And British’ Ft Little Simz & Benjamin A.D

North London lyricist Wretch 32 is back with his most powerful offering yet, as he unveils his brand new record ‘Black and British’, alongside the multi-faceted musician that is Little Simz and rapper on the rise Benjamin A.D.

Delivered just in time for Black History Month, ’Black and British’ is a thought provoking track that reflects the harsh realities of what it’s like to be Black in Britain. Being such an eloquent wordsmith, Wretch 32 presents the topics of race and discrimination in such an impactful way, Little Simz’ arrival on ‘Black and British’ is poetic addition with Benjamin A.D’s sealing the track with his soothing vocals.

The visuals for ‘Black and British’ are the perfect balance of clean cut and nostalgic, as they flip between Wretch, Simz and Benjamin in Brunswick Art Gallery, surrounded by art made by Michael Gordon, Shaquille-Aaron Keith, Teoni Hinds and Kandre Aramide Hassan, the scenes then jump back to what could reflect the home of Wretch 32’s Grandmother’s home, whom is sampled on the track. The sample of Wretch’s Grandmother is taken from the milestone ‘Scenes From The Farm’ Broadwater Farm estate documentary (depicting the aftermath of the 1985 riots), first televised in 1988. 

Followed on by Wretch 32’s impressive back catalogue and dynamic record ‘Moments of Silence’ and Daily Duppy freestyle, which were both released earlier this year, Wretch 32 is back like he never left, defining his name as one of the UK’s most trailblazing lyricists.
