With potent punchlines and slick flows, Light’s latest offering, ‘Ko-Lee Noodles’, highlights this upcoming artist’s huge ability. Since he began releasing, Light has flipped between both Drill and Real Rap instrumentals, with his latest offering falling in the latter category. The ease with which he shines across both styles sets him apart from many contemporaries.
With this being his fifth single of the year, Light is clearly hungry to make his mark on the UK rap scene. Speaking of hunger, the concept for this track came about due to Light waking up one morning and realising the only food he had to hand was a pot of Ko-Lee Noodles. This inspired a freestyle which he was then encouraged by his team to finish. Some serendipity in effect here, with the result being this compelling single.
With roots in Ireland, Wales and Grenada, Light’s journey into music began at an early age. His Rastafarian father called on him to help with flyering around Notting Hill Carnival to promote his events. Being immersed in the culture from such a young age gave Light an early education on the ways of music. Now ready to make his own mark, Light is rapidly cementing his name in the scene.
With this latest release, it’s clear that Light has no intention of taking a break this year. Going from strength-to-strength with each release, Light is a highly promising talent.
