WESLEE Return With The Dreamlike ‘Love You I Do’

Detailing a romantic excursion that has run its course set to a downtempo, R&B duo WESLEE deal with the loss and loneliness associated with pinning for a partner once the relationship has ended after returning from a 3 year break.

The duo is made up by producer Josh Grant and singer-songwriter Emma DD who first released ‘Gassed’ in 2017 before following it up with a string of releases.

On their newest single ‘Love You I do’ the soft toned singer submerges herself in conflicting feelings with a vividness as she admits that their wants weren’t aligned however through the song she cannot help but reassure her love interest that she still loves them.

Speaking on the track, and their upcoming music WESLEE explain: “We’ve built out a series of immersive worlds, always expanding with more insights into us, our music and collaborators.

The stuff that current socials and platforms just don’t give you enough of, it’s a community for our fans who truly care about the art and want to be a part of this journey.”

Directed and animated by Agnes Xantippa Boman, the accompanying video is shot in a surrealist style emphasising the power of nature, as it presents the two main character’s lives unfold.

And leaning further into themes of naturalism and nature at the start of the track you can faintly hear birds chirping in the background behind the rhythm and warmth of the 80s inspired percussion before the piano chords descend.

Formed by a meeting in a New York recording session WESLEE enjoyed performing a sold-out headline show at London’s Omeara and featured in the BBC Introducing showcase.

They champion an Experimental approach to building expressive, deep and dynamic worlds within their music, blurring the genres of R&B, Indie, Soul.

And are yet to release a debut project, however ‘Love You I Do’ in an indication of the boundless potential there is to creatively explore for the duo.
