Vince Staples Releases His Latest Offering ‘Shame On The Devil' Ahead of Eight Album

Melancholic, soft-spoken and yearning simply for some affection from a love interest, Vince Staples doesn’t shy away from the complexity of his latest offering ‘Shame On The Devil’.

Rather he casts himself in uncertain waters as he navigates his doubts and admits to his hypocrisy at times. he raps “Please don’t leave me I learned my lesson / but I still chase girls I’m in-perfected" as his two-year break from music comes to an end.

The track is made up of simplistic percussion elements that provide cover for an eery sharp guitar sound that is looped throughout the track to take precedence. Adding to the effect you can hear the croonings of an unnamed female vocalist’s emotive voice.

The second part of the track, sees Staples quicken his pace on the beat, skipping with a bounce as he attempts to take responsibility for the various things in his life.

The Long Beach rapper also announced the surprise release of his eighth studio album, Dark Times via Blacksmith Records / Def Jam Recordings.

The 13-track album, which follows the critically acclaimed and widely received love letter to his home Ramona Park Broke My Heart will be released Friday 24th May.

The project stays faithful to familiar themes and tropes that Vince has explored throughout his career, whilst documenting the everyday parts of his life with honest, frank and at times wry commentary.
