Truemendous Takes Things Up a Notch With Sophomore Album 'Great. On Purpose.'

Hailing from the Midlands but based in London, rapper Truemendous takes things up a notch and unveils her sophomore album ‘Great. On Purpose.’ The album comes after a string of successful releases, including Skinnyman collab Yourself or The World.

Challenging the mainstream clutter in music and getting straight to the heart of what’s real Truemendous tackles topics such as relationships, uncomfortable family dynamics and personal growth with a self-assured lyricism. Spanning 15 tracks the album is sonically vibrant, showcasing the rapper’s wide range of influences. Tracks such as Curve introduce Yoruba via Nigerian vocalist Vaddy, whilst R&B tracks such as Flip A Coin and Beyonce / Tortoise & The Hare introduce listeners to a more vulnerable side.

Supporting the album’s release is the visuals to latest single Stooshe Then, Stooshe Now. Once again flexing her self-assured nature, this track encourages women from all backgrounds and walks of life to unite and empower each other. Housing production by Forest DLG, Stooshe Then, Stooshe Now contains a jumpy beat that is reminiscent of a summer day. The visuals are equally bright and further push for diversity with several national flags such as Jamaica, Nigeria and Trinidad appearing in the background.
