Timberland is proud to announce the opening of a special pop-up exhibition in Soho on 17th September 2024, in collaboration with Nigerian artist SLAWN and British style photographer Jamie Morgan. This unique showcase not only celebrates Timberland’s ‘ICONIC’ campaign but also dives deep into the creative process behind it, offering a rare glimpse into the world of one of the most provocative voices in contemporary art.
Jamie Morgan, celebrated for his iconic British style photography, was the visionary behind the original imagery for the Timberland campaign. His work, often focused on capturing the raw energy of street style and subcultures, provides the perfect foundation for SLAWN's reinterpretation. By layering his distinct artistic style over Morgan’s photography, SLAWN challenges traditional boundaries between fashion photography and fine art. This collaboration bridges two creative disciplines, blending them into a harmonious and thought-provoking exploration of identity, style, and legacy.
The exhibition is a two-floor experience, with each level offering a different facet of SLAWN’s creative universe. On the ground floor, visitors will find the eight reimagined images by Jamie Morgan, now canvases for SLAWN’s disruptive and thought-provoking interventions. From bold brushstrokes to abstract designs, the artist’s touch transforms these images into multi-dimensional artworks that reflect his perspective on the campaign.
