The Tease is Over: GloRilla Drops 'Hollon' and Prepares Fans for Her Debut Album 'GLORIOUS'

The wait is over. After weeks of building the hype, giving fans nothing but short snippets of ‘Hollon’, the GRAMMY-nominated Memphis rapper has unleashed the track in full. It’s exactly what her fans expected— a track that exudes her assertiveness dressed in fierce bars, backed by a beat that hits hard from the start - gritty, in-your-face club ready production.

The viral buzz she stirred up over the past few weeks had fans lighting up her comments, mixing excitement with impatience. One fan summed it up perfectly: “Yes, I’m tired of only hearing this snippet. And when I mean I’m tired,

I love it so much it ain’t enough.” That’s GloRilla’s magic—she taps into something real, connecting through music that’s impossible to shake off.

Opening ‘Hollon’ with her trademark fiery confidence, she comes in hot with the lines: “H*e, you must not know what you just started (da f*ck) / Me and my b*tches go gnarly / Give a f*ck about this party / We gone step on sh*t regardless (stamp dat).” It’s classic Glo—raw, confident, and unapologetic, packaged in the kind of production that fans have come to expect from the CMG artist.

From the jump, GloRilla’s music has had a universal appeal, encouraging women to ‘walk the walk and talk the talk’ but don’t get it twisted she has men tapping into their female energy - they be turning up when that ‘Glorilla’ come on.

‘Hollon’ arrives alongside ‘TGIF’, her summer anthem that had pool parties everywhere on lock. Together, these singles give us a taste of what’s to coming when her debut album ‘GLORIOUS’ drops.

While ‘TGIF’ is all about summer, getting lit, that carefree energy, ‘Hollon’ is something else entirely. It taps into the same aggressive, in-your-face energy that GloRilla is known for, with a nostalgic twist—there’s an interpolation of

DJ Unk’s 2006 hit ‘Hold On Ho’ that keeps it fresh while giving a nod to the past - she ain’t playin on this one.

This upcoming album marks a transitional, defining moment for GloRilla. While ‘GLORIOUS’ is being billed as her debut studio album, it’s far from her first major project.  Her 2022 EP Anyways, Life’s Great… put her on the map, thanks to tracks like F.N.F. (Let’s Go) and ‘Tomorrow 2 featuring Cardi B. That project became the biggest debut EP by a female rapper in three years, moving close to 400,000 units.

Tracks like these mobilised her into mainstream success. Fast forward to 2024, and her mixtape ‘Ehhthang, Ehhthang’ stacked up over 550 million streams in the U.S. alone, locking in her position in the game.  Then came Yeah Glo! and Wanna Be, hitting the Billboard Hot 100 and taking over Urban Radio. ‘Wanna Be’ even hit No. 1 on the Rhythmic chart.

GloRilla’s been collecting accolades left and right, too. She’s up for seven awards at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards, not to mention her previous nominations for the GRAMMYs, AMAs, and last year’s BET Hip Hop Awards.

She’s already reshaping the landscape of hip hop, and the industry is clearly taking notice - securing her reputation as one of the most exciting names in the game.

Beyond the music, Glo’s also been capturing the attention of the fashion world -  Her bold red carpet look at the 2023 BET Awards had heads turning, with Vogue even featuring her in a ‘Get Ready With Me’ segment. Inspired by Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ iconic 2000 Soul Train Awards look, Glo showed she can turn it up off the stage too, embracing her fearless style.

“A reflective cropped jacket and matching oversized pants—a strip of fabric strategically wrapped around her chest. Her inspiration for the night was the look and hairstyle of the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes wore to the 2000 Soul Train Awards.” - Vogue.

But back to ‘Hollon’. The grit, the energy, the attitude—it’s all there, and it’s clear that GloRilla is creating a legacy of empowerment, self-expression, and unshakeable confidence.

Her rise from the underground rap scene to the mainstream has been nothing short of inspiring, and with ‘GLORIOUS’ just around the corner, the next chapter in her journey is set to be even bigger.
