The LVMH Prize 2025 Semifinalists Announced

The LVMH Prize for Young Designers has once again set the stage for fashion’s most promising talents, unveiling its 20 semi-finalists for the 2025 edition. Since its inception in 2013, the prize has been transformative in the industry, catapulting emerging designers to international acclaim. This year’s selection showcases a bold departure from minimalism, embracing daring silhouettes, masterful embellishments, and a revival of high-concept tailoring.

The 2025 semi-finalists span 15 different countries, marking a significant step towards inclusivity with first-time entrants from Egypt, Ghana, and Saudi Arabia. Among the rising stars are Alainpaul by Alain Paul (France), All-in by Benjamin Barron & Bror August Vestbø (USA & Norway), Boyedoe by David Boye-Doe Kusi (Ghana), Francesco Murano (Italy), Josh Tafoya (USA), and KML by Ahmed Hassan (Saudi Arabia). Other standouts include Meruert Tolegen by Meruert Planul-Tolegen (USA), MFPEN by Sigurd Bank (Denmark), Nicklas Skovgaard (Denmark), Penultimate by Xiang Gao (China), Pillings by Ryota Murakami (Japan), and Sinéad O’Dwyer (Ireland).

These semi-finalists will present their collections in Paris on March 5-6, coinciding with Paris Fashion Week. A panel of esteemed industry experts will then determine the eight finalists, each vying for the ultimate prize: €400,000 and a year-long mentorship from LVMH’s leading professionals in areas such as sustainability, brand development, and business strategy.

Further accolades include the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, awarding €200,000 and mentorship, and the Savoir-Faire Prize, which launched last year when Michael Stewart, who founded Standing Ground, won the prize. The Savoir-Faire Prize celebrates exceptional craftsmanship and innovation, in which the winners are also awarded €200,000 along with a one-year mentorship.
