After earning a GRAMMY Award for Best African Music Performance for “Love Me JeJe” from her acclaimed debut album Born In The Wild, San Diego FC (SDFC) has announced Tems as the newest Club Partner. Through her company, The Leading Vibe, Tems joins a distinguished ownership group dedicated to excellence and community engagement, including actress Issa Rae, World Cup-winning footballer Juan Mata, retired U.S. Navy SEAL Jocko Willink, and San Diego Padres’ All-Star Manny Machado.

Tems’ involvement marks a significant step in merging music, culture, and sport, bringing her global platform and creative vision to SDFC. With a career defined by grass roots talent and authenticity, Tems will play a key role in amplifying the club’s mission to inspire and empower communities through the shared power of football and culture in the USA.
Tems joins San Diego FC in partnership with Pave Investments, an African private investment firm that previously led an investment group into NBA Africa in 2021. As part of this collaboration, Tunde Folawiyo, Chairman of Pave Investments, and Kwamena Afful, Founding Director of Pave Investments, will also join the SDFC ownership group. Together, this diverse group of global leaders will champion the vision of Right to Dream Academy and San Diego FC, leveraging their influence and expertise to create opportunities for young talent both on and off the pitch.
SDFC Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour welcomed Tems to the club, stating:
“Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which has its foundations in sub-Saharan Africa through the Right to Dream organization.”
With Tems on board, combining the power of music, investment, and sport through this partnership signals an exciting new chapter for SDFC—one that will resonate with fans worldwide.
