Tamera Confronts Her Social Anxiety On New Single “Frozen”

Sharing with us her first release of the year “Frozen” the track is a follow-up to her fast-paced tropical-toned single ‘Insensitive’.

Instead of following her Afrobeat soundscape that has become familiar to the Kent native after the release of her debut EP Afrodite, she instead decides to experiment with a new sound.

Released as we approach spring, ‘Frozen’ is a hint of warmer days and a nod to the UK dance and race culture, but despite the catchy beat explores serious topics with an openness.

The beat, produced by Majid contains the essence of electronic dance. Hypnotising, the beat is equipped with tribalistic percussion, synths and other sound effects that act as the perfect landscape for Tamera to colour in with her scintillating R&B.

Tamera breathes new life into existence with sweet and airy tones with an honesty that is refreshing. Softly she sings the hook “I feel frozen I’m late to the party because I go through the emotions – I love how you love me.” Delivered in an enthralling way it addresses the uncomfortableness that the London-based singer feels in large crowds and social gatherings due to her anxiety.

We see self-exploration I’m ‘Frozen’, which we have seen in glimpses of Tamera’s discovery and how it relates to her personal relationships and social interactions. Experiencing newfound feelings of romantic love, she muses on ways to protect it, and seek safety when threatened by the outside world.

Tamera shares: “Frozen is a special song forged from two extreme emotions. One being love & the other being anxiety. It’s about a love that feels so much like home it makes the outside world seem like a daunting place to be.”
