Sometimes we love the people who hurt us the most and coming to that realisation on her latest offering ‘DIVERSION’ Tamera looks at the duality of loving someone whilst knowing they’re no good.
Produced by Aston Rudi and Rise & Shine, the soundscape is constructed from soft and dynamic percussion that is interwoven with synth strings and other electronic elements to create an emotive feel.
Allowing the space for Tamera to build up the layers of an enticing retelling of the moment she released she needed to get out of an unhealthy romantic situation.
However, she cannot help but blur the lines between desire and self-awareness. She sings “ You got me tripping while I’m falling/ sweating to the morning/ hands around my necklace/ oh you fucking reckless."
Explaining the meaning behind the single, Tamera shares: I had to dig deep to create this song & channel sensitive emotions that usually I would avoid. However, the inspiration behind this song came from a time of my life I’d like to think I’ve healed from so writing it wasn’t too hard but ended up being a kind of farewell to that particular version of myself.
I dive into codependency, lack of self worth & self sabotage by way of an unhealthy relationship. Confronting myself for doing something I know isn’t good for me but not having the power at the time to leave it behind.
Recently the singer teamed up with Kamille and Bellah for ‘Options’ a blurred fusion of pop, Garage and R&B and also worked with P-rallel’s ‘I’m SO High’.
Looking forward to the next offering we cannot wait to see what type of sound she chooses to venture into nex
