SONGER Releases New Single “4:59” With Grime Legend D Double E

SONGER, the 22-year-old rapper hailing from Reading, has just released his eagerly awaited new track "4:59" ft. D Double E.

The first chapter of SONGER's story is amazing. Honing his craft quietly from his family home in Reading, the young artist has now sold out a UK headline tour without a booking agent, has recorded three of the most watched BL@CKBOX freestyles of all time, and developed a cult-like following of extremely devoted fans—all without a label. With the first single from his upcoming album "Love Is A Lottery" released late last year, and an exhilarating sold-out debut headline tour ahead, "4:59" lands on yearning ears.

D Double E, unquestionably one of grime's greatest MCs, collaborates with SONGER on the second song teasing the upcoming album. The garage beat, which has a catchy percussive, shuffling rhythm and syncopated hi-hats, provides a dynamic backdrop for SONGER's witty lyricism and later additions from D Double E.

SONGER explains:

"4:59" is an instant feel-good song, with a garage style and lyrics that transport you to happy memories of partying and friendship. The combination of a new school artist and legendary MC create an atmosphere to boost any situation, no matter who you are.”

With a refined writing style, SONGER approaches rap in a unique way. Not only focusing on topics like sex, money and drugs SONGER also chooses topics that are more personal to him “I’ll go through phases where I’ll have poor mental health. I’ll get anxiety. I don’t wanna say I’ve been depressed but... close enough init.”

Not slowing down SONGER has a busy festival season ahead, including Reading & Leeds (Radio 1xta Stage), Longitude (main stage), and more to be announced. Keep a look out because we're going to be seeing a lot of the incredible artist.
