Sienna Spiro Releases Metaphoric Symphony ‘Taxi Driver’

Sienna Spiro’s third single Taxi Driver comes only two months after our interview with the singer-songwriter and produced by Kabo, who has industry credits such as SZA (a fan of Sienna’s) and Fwdslxsah who has worked with Kid Cudi, 6black and PARTYNEXTDOOR we're not disapointed with her latest work.

Many points in the song feel powerful and showcase Sienna’s vulnerability. An example being the added compression and reverb used on the pre-chorus, “don’t say, you won’t go that way”, before reaching the climatic line, “salt burn in my eyes…”.

On Taxi Driver, Sienna blends emotive metaphors and derives her stories of human connection to create a full listening experience on her third ever single and follow up to ‘Maybe’ which boasts 4 million streams. Fans have shown their eagerness to hear more from the young London-born singer, awaiting this next ballad to relate to. Sienna continued to utilise her platform to share clips of the single in acoustic forms, as ballads accompanying her strong vocals with piano chords. Taxi Diver is another one to add to your playlist. The fusion of piano motifs and rising sequences that transcend the verses into a build-up on the chorus. The single hears Sienna infuse elements of her love for RnB and jazz into her own music. From storytelling through metaphors to layered vocals from the artist, both blend to create a euphoric symphony.

Sienna cleverly writes in a way far behind her years, taking the time to format songs that let the listener paint their own perception of the lyrics which can allow them to relate it to their own experience. Her riffs and runs delicately layer over string and accordion instrumentation reaching a climax in the chorus. Like her previous singles, Taxi Driver takes a minor key progression and crescendos into major chords on piano. Releasing a perfect cadence to end the song, we hear sound effects and musical onomatopoeia as the track fades out.

At this rate, the standards have been set, met and continue to rise as the young star only gets better with each release. We cannot escape the talent of the rising artist and when the next track drops, you know we will be listening.
