Santino Le Saint Strips It All Back With 'I Would If I Could'

Stripping back the production on his new single ‘I Would If I Could’ Santino Le Saint leaves the song at its bare bones as he cuts deep on this alternate R&B record.

Longing for a ghost from his past in the form of an ex-love interest, the Brixton artist wrestles with the finality of the relationship ending and the conflicting feelings still felt.

Soft undertones of a minimalistic acoustic guitar are played warmly, blurred with elements of wailing synths and smooth harmonies in the background empathising with the hurt that lingers.

Cathartic in nature, Santino expresses how the pain is shared in this one-sided dialogue. He sings “You say you don’t dance anyone ‘cause we did that/ but I can't cry anymore my hearts gone bad.”

The south Londoner over the last few years has continued to experiment and push the boundaries, taking risks with his musicality.

And after recently completing a successful 3-date UK/EU tour and coming off of a support tour with 070 Shake he is scheduled to drop a full acoustic project in joint partnership with his label Cloud X and EMPIRE this year.
