The highly awaited Reebok x Casa Del Papel, also known as Money Heist on Netflix, collection dropped on May 4th, 2022, succeeding the series coming to a close in December 2021. Featured are four of Reebok's most classic silhouettes – the Classic Leather, Freestyle Hi, Zig Kinetica II, and Club C, in exciting new colourways tailored to each member of the heist crew. The wearer can connect with the characters of the show and indulge in the adventures of the fifth and final season “Get the Gold” with a rub-away window box that unveils the infamous gold the characters search for.
The details within the trainers make for a contemporary take on a classic look. The Classic Leather, £75, is influenced by the masks members of the heist crew wear to hide their true identity, with materials and textures that mirror that on the mask, such as a 3D modelled stripe.
The Zig Kinetica II, £100, incorporates characteristics of the notorious red jumpsuits such as a zipper feature, premium stitching, and a textile upper, leaving a clean look.
Club C, £75, honours the Professor, the leader of the crew. With the tongue including signature features of the Professors look, a glasses-shaped metal lace dubrae accompanied by a tie and wire detail. These features are continued by the packs favourite anthem inscribed on the heel tab and blueprints of missions coating the lining. All three are available in unisex sizing while Freestyle Hi is available in women’s sizing.
This original workout trainer is modernized with strong feminine influence from the character Tokyo. The combination of her Ankh necklace and ballistic nylon material, referencing a vest she wears throughout the final season, conjures Tokyo’s powerful style. The missions are also inferred through the rub-away box and stripe, uncovering gold effects that create an eye-catching addition to the shoe. The packaging of each design reminds the customer of the gang’s first heist with the graphics including the Royal Mint of Spain from the intro. The shoes are wrapped in red tissue paper, alluding to the origami of the heist team genius when the professor constructs a plan.
To further the creative capsule collection, a hoodie and two t-shirts are designed in sizes 2XS – 2XL. The hoodie represents an iconic scene where the Professor attempts to regain the support of the public by casting millions of euros to the citizens of central Madrid. The t-shirts are influenced by the heist and ensuing escape, including details like the duct taped tool and phone the Professor, uses to liaise with other members of the gang and the police. It's clear Reebok and Casa Del Papel have placed an exciting contemporary spin on classic pieces ready for any wearer to style.
