Queen Millz Announces Her Debut 'Causing A Scene' Mixtape, And Romance-Tinged New Single ‘Real One'

Juxtaposing smooth Latin guitars with punchy drill beats, ‘Queen Millz drops 'Real One’ a modern take on TLC's 'No Scrubs' a 90s Classic. The track is produced by Roddy Beatz (Central Cee) and sees Queen Millz tap into her trademark brand of honest lyricism, with a hint of romance and vulnerability as she details her desire for a real man that will treat her right. Flexing her talent for writing catchy hooks, the chorus showcases her vocal abilities alongside her quickfire bars.

The track is accompanied by a music video starring Millz and model/actor Shaun Pelayo as lead male. In a colourful dreamlike setting, we see Millz pick out the best suited man for her amongst a myriad of men.

Speaking on both the track and the video, Millz shares, “the song is describing my perfect man. I wanted to show some emotion with this one. In relationships, I’m all soppy and lovey dovey so it takes the right man to bring it out. The video is a serious level up. We based it on playing with certain words that I use within the tune like “spoilt for choice”. I show a variety of men in different scenarios and we played around with the lighting to set the mood.”

The track follows on from body positive anthem ‘Body & Shape’, which was recently added to BBC Radio 1Xtra’s playlist.

Looking ahead, Queen Millz has also been announced for the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend in Coventry and she is also set to perform on the BBC Introducing Stage, alongside the likes of Hope Tala and Piri & Tommy that day. She also features on Trillary Banks’ new mixtape release 90s Baby, which is out now.

And with attention spanning across various aspects of her career, and her Causing A Scene mixtape well underway which drops 13th May, Queen Millz is a certified rising star in the UK music scene right now, with ‘Real One’ set to reach big heights.
