POP SMOKE Gives Us The Intro We've Been Waiting for With "Meet The Woo"

The New York native rose to new heights when hit viral hit ‘Welcome To The Party’ started to gain traction, he has now released his debut EP Meet The Woo and shows us why he is well in line to be the next up.

With now over 5.1 Million views on Youtube and 1 Million+ streams on Spotify, “Welcome To The Party” just like its name sake welcomed us into the enigma that is Pop Smoke. Employing a hard-hitting drill beat by London producer 808 Melo, Smoke flows over the beat in effortless fashion, his voice a brash tone that has become aligned to him and makes sure his music hits perfectly. As noted by A$AP Ferg and many others, the track has similarities to UK songs and videos and with Brooklyn communities infused with many of the same cultures, it’s understandable.

Meet The Woo serves as Pop Smokes first official project, it consists of 9 tracks, all of which have production credits from 808 Melo. His path has been innovative one as he steps away from the usual underground trap scene in America and the new age melodic rap bag that fellow Brooklyn rappers like A Boogie and Lil TJay are in. The project is high-energy for the most, the majority of the tracks are robust bops but we see him switch it up and get reflective on songs like “PTSD”, “Brother Man” and “Feeling”.

This is only the beginning for Pop Smoke, he’s begun solidifying his place in the scene and it would be the least bit surprising if we him everywhere next year.
