PFW SS25 - Ann Demeulemeester, Rock & Romanticism Reign

Stefano Gallici has been at Ann Demeulemeester for over three seasons and with each collection he makes apparent the fact that he not only understands Ann and the brand's codes, but also knows how to imbibe his essence into each collection.

His references for this showcase were journalist Hunter S. Thompson, mediaeval poet François Villon, actor - director Dennis Hopper and writer Jack Kerouac. Similar to AW ‘24, Stefano also paid an homage to Stevie Nicks with leather & lace.

This particular collection had floral patterns on silk, satin & lace interspersed with distressed patchwork denim. There were deconstructed outfits alongside masterfully tailored and layered ones. Scarves, neckerchiefs, lace headbands and metallic forehead bands provided a bohemian touch alongside the colour palette of classic black & white mixed with lilac, powder pink and mauve.

Titled “The Dialogue of Another Day” with slogans on shirts, “Whispered secrets of the dead” and “whispers of change, echoes of hope” it was a modernised take on romanticism. It was rawness, vulnerability, strength balanced with delicate beauty and palpable nostalgia.
