PFW AW25: Acne Studios

Swedish fashion brand Acne Studios wants the new man of 2025 to wear its fall collection however they desire. “Dressed up or undone” are the words written on the brand’s socials to describe the style of its AW offering. The brand consistently stands out as one of the most adept at reeling in a Gen Z audience with its celebrity-fronted campaigns and visionary takes on apparel. Yesterday, in the heart of Paris, they took the opportunity to introduce the world to the enigma that is the Acne man. A man as comfortable in tailoring as he is in ‘dirty’ jeans or velour tracksuits.

Acne Studios Fall 2025

Creative Director and founder of the brand Johnny Johansson blended a mix of tailored traditional menswear pieces such as seventies-style flare trousers, button-down shirts and loafers with unconventional styling. This included bow-tied blouses with leather boots and mid-length shorts. Swedish sophistication and 90’s American sportswear is juxtaposed with Acne’s contemporary street style in the form of tracksuits, leather jackets and cropped tank tops. Johansson’s famous ‘Millenial Pink’ shade dominating the brand’s image, interiors, products and fonts was noticeably used for one of the crop tops worn under a contrasting jacket woven with linear threads of pink. The collection, unsurprisingly, also featured a version of the signature Acne ‘Dirty Jean’ made famous by Kylie Jenner’s campaign in 2023 shot by Carlijn Jacobs.

The styling would not have felt out of place on the streets of East London, looks that prioritised comfort and wearability yet could easily be incorporated into the wardrobe of a more corporate sartorialist, referencing the pinstripe blazer and wide-leg trousers. Statement belts are a star piece for the collection giving a taste of Western flair to each look. Perhaps a nod to Louis Vuitton’s tonal shift since Pharrell’s arrival.

There was a consistent flow of denim throughout the show worn by only two male models, the fluidity throughout the brand’s imagery insists on the collection being transitional, wearable and thematically telling a story through the models’ voices within each piece.

The increasingly popular trend of vintage leather shoulder bags heavily influenced the accessorising for this collection. With high-end models such as Bella Hadid and Iris Law sourcing vintage bags, in particular, the bowling bag structure, there is a high demand for the constructed shape of shoulder bags. Acne Studios has created a black version with silver hardware detailing and a long single strap to pair with the more casual looks in the collection.

Appealing to the everyday traveller, or booked and busy customer, Acne Studios also showcased a velour two-piece striped tracksuit delivered in autumnal shades of burgundy and red.

Using their social media presence, ingenious campaigns and knowledge of their consumer base, Acne Studios have brilliantly curated a story throughout this collection by identifying with those who love the brand. Covering the creative office worker, young tailored professional, or athletic sportswear enthusiast, this collection captures the essence of a young man’s everyday life, ensuring each part of their day is accounted for. Johnny Johansson's creation of novel expressions is very much present within the Fall 2025 collection and it feels as though his passion for design, and film especially, has played a role in this sophisticated approach to contemporary tailored design for the Swedish brand.
