Oscar #Worldpeace returns with the deeply feeling ‘Heaven’ ft Qendresa, a timeless record that blurs the lines between R&B and rap existing like the artist himself in a space of pure expression

Soft-spoken, the Tottenham artist draws from an intimate air with his silky smooth delivery. Moving across the beat his romantic lyrism prompts a give and take with its recipient his partner; providing genuine affection and playful suggestive notions. Whilst Qendresa’s vocal enhances the track with her soulful tone and stirring delivery

Delivered with a sincere distinct conversational flow, he sings “Tell me your dreams and I’ll stay attentive/what’s it about me you keep blessing/keep her around me I love her questions”.

Produced by IGLU NOISE the soundscape is filled with an emotive jazz-influenced arrangement. Horns rifting, groovy baselines and rhythmic percussion instruments lift a progressive narrative.

He has also announced that his new album Mum, Pray For Your Son is out next month on the 19th, as well as his first headline show in London for over 3 years at The Grace in Highbury on the 1st of May.

Speaking about the upcoming project, Oscar says; ‘In a lot of my older music I couldn’t touch on parenthood yet as it was still new to me. Now I’m 4 years in, it's a great time for me to reflect on that in my music and to compare the things I want for my son to how I was raised’. The record opens with Oscar’s son’s voice asking ‘Daddy where’s your bible?’

“I’ve had the title since 2018 but I needed to live the life as a parent and a husband for the title to start clicking. It’s reflective of me growing up; my mum and dad parenting me and sharing stories with me, which I then transfer to my son.

I was a little scared about putting something like this out at first, because you toy with the idea of catering to what’s popular out there. But I started making music because my favourite artists gave me stories and feelings to last a lifetime. That’s how I came in the game, so I had to take myself back to that essence. That’s what Mum, Pray For Your Son stands for.”
