Rising producer Omar+ has recently released his infectious new single ‘Body Language’ alongside Piri (from Piri & Tommy). This collaboration perfectly blends Piri’s sweet tone against a more hard-hitting hybrid of UK dance music, including house and a slight nod to trance. Omar+ also incorporates his R&B signature input with his own vocals, used to help create the back-and-forth chemistry between them.
The contrast between the pop-like vocals from Piri, reminiscent of Pinkpantheress, gliding across the more aggressive production, creates a much-needed balance that takes the song into different directions and gives it a more universal appeal.
Around halfway into the song both Omar+ and Piri’s voices begin to fuse together, a reflection of their ‘body language’ being in sync before the production takes off once again into a burst of synth-infused club energy.
This latest collaboration comes after a string of popular releases last year from Omar+, including fan-favourite ‘Namerakana 2.0’ which has amassed over 700,000 streams on Spotify alone. Hoping to keep the momentum going in 2025, Omar+ has certainly taken the right approach in tapping in Piri, from BBC Sound of 2023 alumni duo Piri & Tommy, which is sure to make a splash in the UK club scene and help his name grow even more.
