Nines Announces Album Date for 'Crop Circle 2' & New Release Single 'Tony Soprano 2'

Anyone who listens to UK rap can advocate that artists like Nines are one of the many pioneers in the game. With a lengthy and memorable discography dating back to the mid-2000s, the musical artist shocked us with his short departure which came quickly after the release of his 2020 album Crabs In A Bucket which hit UK number 1. Fans assumed that the artist retired from the game but it wasn’t until December last year that the Church Road rapper made a social media return via Instagram with a post captioned "Album done".

Since then, we’ve been patiently waiting for a release date of the new album, which we now know is titled Crop Circle 2 and will be out on April 28th. A sooner-than-expected date (can’t complain), Nines gifted us with the first single, Tony Soprano 2 dropped on April 20th, which also marks the fifth birthday of his studio album Crop Circle.

Nines has a way of story-telling that invites listeners into both his past and present world, the track does just what he is known best for, leaving us to use our imaginations to depict the lyrics.

I-I ain’t put no plaques on my wall yet

By at least five, I’ll send those packs to your doorstep

In this, in this music scene, I’m legendary

Raps have always been secondary like February

Told my guy, “Don’t come near me with no tester” (Uh)

Don’t be talkin’ packs ‘round Siri and Alexa

Free the gang, I can't forget my celly

I-I was a gettin' letter in the can, like alphabets spaghetti, uh

All these n***** bite my style

I did "A-Wings Got Talent" in jail I was like Simon Cowell

The song’s accompanied by slick visuals which he co-directed with long-time collaborator Charlie Di Placido. The visuals execute the vision of bringing each verse to life by placing Nines in several locations including a warehouse and recording studio.

The releases don’t stop there, as he brought to light the tracklist as well as the collaborations which include Clavish, Zino Records signee Lylo Gold and familiar features from Potter Payper and Nafe Smallz.
