Nia Smith Exerts Strength On New Single 'Personal'

Powerful, self-assured and confident Nia Smith choses peace over drama as she returns with her latest single ‘Personal’ a follow up to her debut single ‘Give Up The Fear’.

‘Personal’ is a resistance to the pressures of folding against a man and finding the space to express her power and anger through vocal control and enthralling lyricism.

She steps away from a romantic situation that she is no longer fulfilled in denying the bad energy and affirmingly believing in the notion that if it’s no meant for you then don’t stick around.

Nia demonstrates her honed technical ability as a vocalist, and maturity in a rich smoky tone she difts with a rhythmic sway languishing in a unhurried fashion on a beat Produced by Grammy-award-winner Jimmy Napes & Ed Thomas.

She drawls, “It’s all love until there’s no love, you don’t got what I need / it’s all love untul there’s no love move yourself from me.”

The track is arranged in a easy and minimalist dub style that sees a loud steady groovy bass  emit a warmth in the soundscape. Hiding underneath is an electric guitar and other creative elements to reflect  culturally rich world.

With only her second release in her career so far Nia has demonstrated a maturity and talent that is far beyond her age.
