Newham Native Sarah Isabella Finds Joy In Her New Single 'Higher Than Home'

Newham native Sarah Isabella finds joy in her impendence on her latest soulful offering ‘Higher Than Home’ by allowing herself a precious moment to be still and present in the moment.

‘Higher Than Home’, follows up to her track ‘Intuition’ and is a cosy embrace that enfolds you into a peaceful haze like in summer and instantly you are caught up in the gentle lull of Sarah’s vocals.

Raw and honest, she sings against a laidback beat about her curiosity to find out about herself. The soundscape is built up from elements of alternative R&B and Jazz as you hear the sounds of a smooth saxophone rift in the background.

It’s the perfect cushion for her vocals, when she delivers lyrics like “the ocean got me feeling like I can’t see/and we are smaller than we wish to be/ your touch has taken over me/ I’ve forgotten how to breathe.”

The accompanying video is shot in a DIY style with B-roll travel footage that reflects the mood of exploration and fluidity in the song, whilst showing off the beauty of the world.

She also announced that her debut EP The Keeper is scheduled to drop on 4th July and will follow the thoughtful nature of previous releases.

Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Sarah says “‘Higher Than Home’ embodies the joy of self-discovery and the odyssey of personal elevation and adventure. It's an anthem that inspires embracing change, discovering joy, and savouring the transformative journey toward a brighter perspective on life and a higher self.

Written during a time where I truly felt creative freedom and had rediscovered play, it champions rebellion, self empowerment and above all living without limitations. For me, ‘Higher Than Home’ embodies the essence of dancing as if no one is watching.”

Transitioning into the summer, it feels like The Keeper will be a perfect feel to accompany it.
