Amie Blu Releases New Single 'pretty'

Following her viral single ‘everything about her’, Amie Blu shares second new single ‘pretty’ exploring the insecurities, anxieties and paranoia that can plague relationships. 

With ‘everything about her’ finding massive internet success (recognised by the likes of Jessie Reyez, Russ and Bella Hadid), ‘pretty’ has similarly received recognition on TikTok with its intriguing backstory. Amie posts the song to the caption “my ex cheated on me but the girl was really pretty so I wrote a song about her”.

In her own words, Amie says “‘pretty’ talks about insecurity and feeling as though I’m competing with another girl/girls. Rather than writing anything hateful I wanted to acknowledge their beauty and kindness, whilst still highlighting my own feelings of self-doubt.”

‘pretty’ has a gentle upbeat groove with Amie’s soulful, warm and delicate vocals. The lyrics are refreshing by approaching self-doubt and insecurities with compassion and understanding, rather than resentment and bitterness. 

The South East London 21 year old artist has been described to have timeless songwriting with widespread acclaim for her independent EPs (‘crumbs in my bed’, ‘5 for U’). She is standing out as a special breakout artist for this year.
