Last week incognito rapper and esteemed artist M Huncho took to The Outernet, in Tottenham Court Road, to perform his latest album ‘My Neighbours Don’t Know.’ The album, perhaps a nudge to his mystery persona, features some of the biggest names in the UK scene right now, with Nines, DBE and Nafe Smallz to name a few.
Huncho, who has never publicly revealed his true identity, has still managed to maintain a strong following of loyal fans, whom he has connected with despite his reclusive attitude to fame - demonstrating how powerful his discography and musical talent are.
Stepping out to the sold-out show, with a capacity of 2000 eager fans at just past 9. p.m., it was clear that this performance was an important one to the ‘Unappreciated’ rapper, a true reflection of his artistry and creativity.
The stage, which was decorated like a typical suburban interior, paid further homage to his project, paying attention to the most minute details. Huncho was joined onstage by his friends - who were playing FIFA on the flatscreen TV - attributing to the community aspect of his performance, a familiar sight to many of the crowd and another personal connection that linked Huncho with his eager fans.

This was his first performance at Outernet, a predominantly standing venue, which allowed for an electric atmosphere, with fans reciprocating the energy he gave them, excited for his performance, reciting his lyrics word for word.
M Huncho welcomed his first guest to the stage to perform ‘Any Minute’, rapper Slim, who he revealed had been imprisoned on the day of the London date of his Utopia tour, four years ago. He expressed a genuine pride and friendship with Slim, which excited fans.
Huncho then brought out Luton rapper singer-songwriter Nafe Smallz, the artist who took the UK by storm with his LinkUp TV collaboration of “What Do You Mean”. The pair performed ‘Stop Calling’, from his recent album, alongside other tracks together.

“You already know where I stand,” he addressed the crowd on the current ongoing situation in the Middle East. “Free Palestine”, he boomed, closing the show with a political message that has hung in conversation across the world for the last month.
Overall, the performance was a fresh, intimate gig that was a clear exhibition of powerful London culture and community, with a clear brotherhood reflected among him and his friends, that he shared with his loyal fans.
