Electronic artist Mura Masa born in Guernsey but made in the rave, has released a double single titled "Rise/Gimme." The two-track EP combines a perfect blend of old school rave classic sounds with a new, fresh sound. Mura Masa, real name Alexander George Edward Crossan, is best known for his 2016 song ‘Lovesick’, featuring ASAP Rocky, and ‘What If I go’, an emotional electric love song that featured Bonzai.
His latest release "Rise / Gimme" is a must-listen EP. With a looped vocal sample from singer-songwriter Nadiah Adu-Gyamfi (formerly of MOKO and currently releasing under NADIAH), "Rise" is an exciting gospel-house song, while "Gimme" is a more cerebral dancefloor experiment that was originally heard on his recent BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. The double edition goes beyond nostalgia, nodding to peak rave-era music.
Masa has had a busy year, headlining festivals and main stages, and is set to perform at Fabric tonight, to celebrate the London night club’s twenty-fourth birthday. He has also had some big collaborations - producing PinkPantheress and Ice Spice’s recent hit "Boy’s a liar Pt.2".
