Manchester Native Nellie Charles Returns With New Offering ‘Rain On Me’

The Manchester native and UK rising singer-songwriter Nellie Charles has returned with newest offering ‘Rain On Me’ as she comes to the end of a relationship.

Dismissive about her ex’s attempt of reconciliation in the aftermath of their break up Nellie Charles invites the conflict that will knowingly occur when she reveals she has moved on.

Released via Chocolate Love Monkey and Melody Mover, ‘Rain On Me’ is a nostalgic R&B burner which address the infidelity of Nellie’s ex and also the notion of her being empowered now that she has had time to heal

The track was also written by produced by Nellie herself, allowing her time to explore her emotional depth and maturity, crafting a relatable experiences that is constructed  from an addictive baseline, off-beat percussion and piano chords that create a smooth intimate laidback affair.

Expressing herself through lyrics, she sings “Your disrespectful and your insecure / your so ungrateful always wanting more / confused to why you do things you do / your new bitch bad and you cheat on her too

‘Rain On Me’ follow ups Charles’ well received and power anthem ‘Boss’ which gained radio play from the likes of BBC 1Xtra, KISS FM, and Capital Xtra.

Drifting sonically from the later, this softer R&B sound not only shows a diverse side to Nellie but also leans into her influences of Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill.

She has also announced that her debut EP will be scheduled for summer release, as well as a performance at Glastonbury festival.
