Mahalia’s new single, ‘Whatever Simon Says’ beams with uplifting and inspiring lyrics, guided by electric guitars and angelic chimes. The British-Jamaican, Leicester born singer-songwriter yearns for higher confidence as she tries to heal an indescribable and emotional wound of insecurities, constructed by society.

Via her Instagram posts, Mahalia structures her single around the themes of individuality, compromise, conformity, emotion and control. With each theme, she exclaims her thoughts on wanting to let go of those insecurities and craving her true identity, curated only for her.
