LFW SS25: MAINS Stuns at Season 2 Show with Star-Studded Crowd and Kickers Collaboration

MAINS, founded by British grime legend Skepta, took the spotlight at London Fashion Week with an exciting showcase of their Season 2 collection. The event was a star-studded affair, with celebrities in attendance to celebrate the evolution of Skepta’s brand, which continues to blur the boundaries between streetwear, high fashion, and cultural expression.

The highlight of the show was the debut of MAINS' much-anticipated collaboration with Kickers, one of Britain’s most iconic footwear brands. Teased just a week prior, the collaboration breathed new life into Kickers' classic Kick Hi boots. Models strutted down the runway in a range of striking colorways of the Kick Hi, but the real showstopper was the unveiling of an unreleased collaboration piece—an inventive design that fused the front of the Kick Hi boot with the back of a slider, complete with a furry finish. This fusion of Kickers' heritage with modern, experimental twists encapsulated MAINS' approach to reimagining everyday items into bold fashion statements.

Skepta’s creative vision shone through in the footwear but also in the distinctive styling of the collection. Models wore long-haired wigs, pocketed handbags, and sleek MAINS-branded neckties, each contributing to the collection’s eclectic, superhero-inspired narrative. The addition of these unexpected elements highlighted the brand’s playfulness and Skepta’s ability to inject subversive, yet refined, details into streetwear.

The nostalgic mood of the show was reinforced by MAINS' university-inspired looks. Scholastic merchandise was reimagined, with varsity logos and motifs incorporated beneath exaggerated blazers with oversized lapels and voluminous pleated culottes. The juxtaposition of academic themes and streetwear silhouettes added a fresh layer of meaning to the collection, suggesting a return to tradition while pushing forward into new territory.

“The celebration of superheroes,” as Skepta described it, was palpable in every look that came down the runway. MAINS' Season 2 collection encapsulated a sense of empowerment and individuality, using nostalgic references, academic iconography, and imaginative footwear designs to reframe the way we perceive modern streetwear.

In blending past and future, high and low, the collection—and the collaboration with Kickers—further solidified MAINS as a brand that is redefining contemporary streetwear with innovation and cultural depth. As Skepta continues to expand the brand’s identity, MAINS remains at the forefront of a fashion movement where authenticity and experimentation reign supreme.
