Ancuța Sarca’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection brought an unexpected yet masterful collision of worlds. The show, held at 180 Strand, London, was a study in contrasts—juxtaposing the cold, structured world of 2020s corporate minimalism with the vibrant, untamed energy of the 1960s. From the first click of a pen and the distant hum of keyboards, the audience was transported into a world where the mundane day-to-day was reimagined through Sarca’s deft fusion of sleek suits and vibrant, animalistic energy.

The collection played on Sarca's signature metamorphosis of disparate eras, merging the monochrome palette of corporate life—dark suits, grey t-shirts, clinical white sneakers—with wild bursts of animal prints. Snakeskin high heels were paired with tailored shirt collars, while leopard print boots clashed magnificently with sporty stripes, creating a sense of duality that reflected the ever-shifting roles women play in modern life. Her use of materials—faux snakeskin, chrome, black, and white—infused the collection with a futuristic, almost post-industrial aesthetic.

A highlight of the collection was Sarca’s collaboration with two iconic footwear brands, Crocs and Clarks, both repurposed with her distinctive twist. The Clarks Wallabee, a symbol of earthy, casual sophistication, was deconstructed and remade using deadstock, resulting in bold, colourful interpretations that emphasised Sarca’s commitment to sustainability. The Crocs collaboration took a similarly inventive route, with Sarca reimagining the brand’s classic clogs and Siren heels through a series of experimental techniques, including electrostatic flocking that gave the shoes a unique texture and depth.

While the 1960s inspiration injected a wild, expressive energy into the show, the meticulous construction of the garments—oversized shirts with repurposed loafer silhouettes, velcro fastenings, and structured tailoring—grounded the collection firmly in the present. Sarca’s menswear debut followed suit, seamlessly merging sportswear aesthetics with her experimental footwear designs. The overall effect was a balancing act between minimalism and maximalism, proving that Sarca can navigate both worlds with equal finesse.

Sarca’s SS25 collection was a statement on how fashion can transcend the constraints of time, identity, and environment. It showed that even the most mundane elements of daily life—like the corporate uniform—can be elevated and reimagined through a creative lens. As the models strode down the runway, one couldn’t help but feel the power of Sarca’s vision: an eclectic, bold, and beautifully unpredictable world where anything is possible.
