LFW AW24: Jack Irving

The Autumn/Winter 2024 season marks another exciting chapter for On|Off, the renowned platform dedicated to fostering creativity and innovation in fashion, technology, and art. Now in its 22nd year, On|Off continues to push boundaries by providing a stage for emerging talents to showcase their unique visions.

One of the highlights of AW24 is the revitalized collaboration with artist and designer Jack Irving, known for his groundbreaking work in wearable inflatable art sculptures. This season, Irving's creations take center stage in a dynamic live installation at Spitalfields E1, where the audience is transported into a subterranean aquatic underworld.

The creative concept behind the installation imagines a scenario where the depths of the ocean intersect with the remnants of an abandoned power plant, resulting in the emergence of a new alien species. Over time, the fusion of seawater and electromagnetic energy has led to the creation of hybrid life forms unlike anything seen before.

The atmosphere crackles with static electricity, reminiscent of the energy found within a nuclear reactor or power plant. This surreal environment serves as the backdrop for the unveiling of Irving's inflatable alien sculptures, each one a testament to the power of two elements colliding.
