kwn is an R&B artist who is making serious waves in the scene right now, having recently seen an upsurge of attention when featured on the single ‘Clothes off’ by R&B superstar Kehlani.
Now, striking while the iron is hot kwn has released the heavily anticipated single ‘worst behaviour’. Prior to release, the song was heavily pushed on social media and got an overwhelmingly positive response. Now the streams are coming in thick and fast.
Her latest offering ‘worst behaviour’ is soaked in confidence and swagger, with a mix of sensuality and roughness that commands the listener to take note. With an underlying drum pattern that sets the tone and pace throughout, kwn effortlessly delivers her vocals with an understated level of authority that seeps into the crevasses of the production.
The trap infused backdrop adds an extra assertiveness to the very direct opening lyrics where kwn appears to be taking the lead. However, when the pre-chorus strikes, she uses her dulcet tones to beg with an aching plea “need you on your worst behaviour”, giving the green light for her partner to give as good as they get!
When the song strides into the chorus, both the beat and the vocals accelerate into an overdrive that spills into a messy, yet sensual back and forth between both parties. An array of suggestive adlibs is laced throughout the song to add an extra intensity to the already steamy track.
With the Kehlani feature having received such a positive response, kwn needed to deliver with a strong successor and ‘worst behaviour’ seems to be the right direction to take. Having recently gone independent since parting ways with Black Butter Records, this latest single is now allowing kwn to taste a new level of success.
