Hailing from South-East London, Peckham, two of the most renowned and respected artists in the Drill scene; Kwengface and SL have merged together for their new single 'For One.' The new single comes ahead of Kwengface's project 'The Memoir' which is dropping on April 14th.
Kwengface is swiftly beating the odds as an artist with a growing fan-base and persevering over the last years, consistently releasing new music with the likes of his 'YPB (Young Peckham Boy)' projects, Daily Duppy, the 2022 Groundworks Cypher, and the recent single 'Ben10', shaping his solo journey. The Drill rapper recently announced his 4-Date UK tour which commences on 25th April, with his London concert taking place at Village Underground on April 29th.
The action-film-inspired video takes on a cinematic production by Lutch Media who are known for producing GRM's popular Daily Duppy series. The music video follows the rappers at a luxurious poker game with friends, then later at a warehouse which has been raided by rivals.
The song itself is a calm-ambient track with drill-influenced elements produced by prominent UK producer Nyge, allowing both artists to demonstrate their vocals alongside their skilled rap verses fueled by wordplay, and catchy chorus. A different take to what most expect from them. Kwengface's singing on the track highlights his versatility and ability to adapt to those he collaborates with as well as his confidence in becoming a bigger and well-versed artist. Both artists know how to create exceptional rap and mainstream-potential music, so this duo was clearly needed.
