Kehlani Shares Powerful New Single 'Next 2 U'

Love at its deepest and purest is sacrificial. There is no ego, but rather an honest desire to care for those we feel for. Kehlani follows up her previously released offering "After Hours’ an infectious, nostalgic dance-bop that does this with Next 2 U’.

She dedicates herself unselfishly to the ones that she loves the dearest, whether that be familial or romantic, she explores the lengths she’ll go to keep her people say.

‘Next 2 U’ released via Atlantic Records sees the singer-songwriter express herself over a distorted alt R&B cut with probing synths that intricately play a melodic tune, as well as a thumping baseline.

Boldly the Oakland artist as sings “They gon', they gon' have to come get me/They gon' have to see about me to get next to you/They gon', they gon' have to call the law/ I don't care what they offer, I'm protecting you.”

The accompanying video, directed by Cole Santiago and produced by Field Trip Media features Kehlani and a group of dancers expertly showing off powerful choreography – in the back Palestinian flags stand proud – showing recognition of the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict and support for its victims.

Announcing her highly anticipated fourth studio album, CRASH will be arriving on June 21 and will follow up last album blue water road released over two years ago.
