Kanye West's 'Yeezus' Was Supposed To Be Called 'Thank God For Drugs' Confirms Artistic Director.

As much as we have heard lots of different titles for Yeezus thrown about such as Waves, TurboGrafx 16 and Good Ass Job... Thank God For Drugs has now been added to the list as an Instagram account that was created by Joe Perez, who has worked on artwork for projects such as Yeezus, The Life Of Pablo, and Cruel Summer and works in the art department at Kanye West's creative company DONDA, confirmed a longstanding rumour that West's sixth studio album was originally titled 'Thank God For Drugs' and included visual concepts.

The account opt_archive also shows a concept of an early cover design featuring the clear case with the title 'Thank God For Drugs' sprawled across the front and artwork by George Condo, the artist who designed the cover for 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' and other pieces of artwork for the album.

Even though West never officially announced Thank God For Drugs as a possible title, Genius highlighted a seven year old post from kanyetothe.com in which a user claimed that Thank God For Drugs was a possible title or Black American Psycho.

The above photo shows the tour poster that was originally called the 'Till Death Do Us Part Tour'. In a photo back in late 2016, showing Kanye and wife Kim customising Adidas Gazelles, this phrase was circulating alongside TurboGrafx 16 and just before YEEZY Season 5.

After some time, the title and design was eventually changed to something more minimalist and the final visual for Yeezus was created by artist Virgil Abloh.
