This is not a drill, I repeat this is not a drill. It would seem that after much delay and hype Kanye West's 'DONDA' is due to be released this Friday nearly two years after his last studio album 'JESUS IS KING'. His 10th studio album, 'DONDA' is set to feature the likes of Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Pusha T and Baby Keem. Dedicated to his late mother, this new LP is set to paint a picture of Kanye's ups and downs over the last few years and pay homage to Donda herself.
Many fans took to social media stating that this would be a historic moment for the Kanye West movement, with stans stating that they are 'ready'. Kanye is reported to be live-streaming a listening party for the album via Apple TV, 8pm EST on Thursday 22nd July.
Kanye West is heralded by many as 'rap royalty' and one of the greatest of all time with regards to his production, lyrical ability and pioneering sound, he has been making waves in the fashion industry with his Yeezy lines and kept a tight lid on developments in his own music career surfacing only to feature on certain tracks over the last year.
Online influencer Justin Laboy tweeted that "Kanye West album is really done. When it drops this week, we probably not going to listen to anything else for a while. Let me go enjoy all the current artists I'm listening to until then. God bless."
Laboy added: "The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he's broke & hungry trying to get signed again. Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back."
Today, Kanye teased a video starring renowned American athlete Sha'Carri Richardson and a segment of one of his new tracks from the album: 'No Child Left Behind'. Whatever happens on Friday it will be sure to light up the conversation around Ye and his rap game longevity.
