Returning with his new single 'Fallin' Joey Bada$$ continues to experiment pushing his artistic and personal development as he explores this newfound romantic experience in depth.

Silky smooth Joey feels the beat as he surrenders to the intense feeling of falling in love on ‘Fallin’. Embracing the feeling, the rapper’s tone is affectionate and light as he conveys the depth of his emotions artfully using language to paint colour.

Favouring openness and authenticity the Brooklyn rapper sets the mood with undertones of a groovy bass line and snatching staccato percussion drums.

The beat rises and falls, mimicking how Joey empathises when he croons “for you” on the track, letting the statement breathe.

Evolving his sound to further the growth we’ve been witnessing over the year he combines elements of R&B paired with laidback old school hip-hop verses around the melody to convey the intimate air.

Demonstrating his artistic talent further, the accompanying nostalgically shot visual is focused on only Joey, as he re-enacts the motions of himself repeatedly falling into his bed and intimate close shots. The repetition is used to highlight the act of falling in love.

Not his only experience with acting recently, Joey has had a reoccurring role in Power Book III: Raising Kanan and was one of the main characters in Wu-Tang: An American Saga.

Seen as the natural successor to his 1999 mixtape released in 2012, 2000 represented the artist entering a high-creative space in which he operates on a high frequency.

The album, critically acclaimed cemented Joey’s space as one of the most talented artists of his generation and gave him the flowers that were due.

Scheduled to begin touring in America and Europe later this month starting in Minneapolis but will make appearances at Glastonbury, Rolling Loud and Wireless to name a few.
