London-born artist Jay Prince has returned with ‘Solitude’, a jazz-infused single off of his upcoming album SHINE, which was announced on March 10th.
‘Solitude’ was born after renowned British actor Daniel Kaluuya introduced Prince to Grammy-winning phenomenon Estelle, whose harmonious melodies contribute to the timeless quality of the track. US-based rapper and producer Oddisee’s signature style blends lush live instrumentation with hip-hop-infused beats takes the track to another level.
‘Solitude’ acts as the third single that Prince has released this year, as the anticipation surrounding his forthcoming 15-track album SHINE builds. The album, set to release on May 16th, is the first body of work being released by Prince in 6 years. He speaks of things having changed ‘for the better’ surrounding this new body of work. .

Born in East London to Angolan and Congolese parents, Prince grew up exposed to an eclectic range of music, spanning multiple genres and styles.
