Harvey Whyte Shares Debut EP 'East 2 West'

The East-London based rapper, producer and pianist Harvey Whyte shared his debut three-track EP today East 2 West. Whilst this his Whyte's first solo project, he has collaborated with a range of up and coming musicians within the alternative UK rap scene such as KeepVibesNear, Frankie Stew and Harvey Gunn and Welsh rapper Luke RV within the last couple of years.

Although short, this EP showcases a variety of capability from Whyte as he retains the symbolism and ongoing theme of what late-night rap is really supposed to sound like. 'Gally From West', our first offering from the new EP, further solidifies his midnight drive vibe that he encases his sound with. As he speaks about a love interest and layers the chorus with a sturdy piano riff, his lead single and fittingly named 'M1' has Whyte flowing over a thumping bassline and raps about darting through the roads to avoid collisions with the police.

“This EP details a romantic pursuit across London from East to West." Whyte says. "I wanted to capture the feeling of travelling across the city at night to meet a love interest.”
