GOOMHEO Launches FW22 Collection ‘Infinite Glacier'

LVMH semi-finalist and Fashion East alumni Goom Heo has launched her fifth collection under the eponymous menswear label GOOMHEO. Stepping out of her comfort zone, the Korean-born, London-based designer has ditched traditional notions of menswear to birth her own unique take on genderless fashion.

Titled Infinite Glacier, the FW22 collection spins conventional menswear on its head. Focused on creating a new persona, genderless and fluid aesthetics are explored. Proportions and silhouettes are played with, gender boundaries are juxtaposed – and pieces are created with both masculine and feminine touches.

A sense of familiarity can be felt across the collection – as traditional couture techniques are upheld. However, these elements are cleverly reimagined through the use of new materials to create GOOMHE’s modern and more fluid aesthetic.

The words 'icy', 'cold' and 'stiff' perfectly characterise Infinite Glacier. Many pieces, namely the Glacier Puffer Jacket, Igloo Aubergine Black Coat and Melting Faux Fur Dress, make ideal Fall/Winter wardrobe essentials.

GOOMHEO’s subversive collection exaggerates menswear details, whilst taking inspiration from traditional womenswear tailoring. From hyperbolised pockets to Goom’s unconventional uses of faux fur, collars and the integration of puffer structures, the collection successfully subverts the status quo of gendered clothing.
