From la Piste to the Pavement is Holzweiler's Autumn/Winter 2025

"Hollzweiler's AW25 'Homecoming' collection captures the Scandinavian beauty of icy tranquility"

"Bundled up in Holzweiler AW25, against the crisp stillness of a Norwegian winter."
"Bundled up in Holzweiler AW25, against the crisp stillness of a Norwegian winter."

For the first time, Holzweiler introduces a dedicated ski capsule, acknowledging its heritage as a Norwegian brand in a country where, as they say, "people are born on skis."

For Autumn/Winter 2025, Holzweiler transports us to the Senja alpine region, a landscape where mountains drop into the Arctic Ocean and daylight thins into a diffused glow.

This is winter, not as an inconvenience, but as a way of life.

The collection is perfectly fitting, feeling both intimately familiar and boldly reimagined: skiwear, après ski, and Nordic utility wear are deconstructed and reconstructed with a modern yet distinctly Norwegian perspective.

The allure of 1960s ski culture (pearl accents, faux fur, oversized eyewear) is subtly intertwined with the athleticism and playfulness of 1980s ski ballet; evoking images of archival footage of ballet dancers on skis, legs cutting through air and bodies twisting mid flight.

Materiality is central to AW25, with Holzweiler’s signature down jackets reimagined in technical wools, corduroys, and robe-like designs, transforming them from performance outerwear to aesthetic statements that transcend any specific time or place.

The faux fur collection embraces extravagance, but not in the typical luxury sense. Here, fur is not just nostalgic but also serves as insulation: its function is reclaimed in the most literal sense.

There is an unmistakable nod to alpine glamour, reminiscent of vintage photos from St. Moritz's golden era, yet AW25 resists pastiche.

The shearling outerwear, featuring a reversible unisex jacket, strikes a balance between tradition and modern practicality. A partnership with Norwegian wool experts Skappel brings in striking geometric knits and hand finished accessories, adding a softer touch to the collection's technical elements.

Holzweiler's seamless transition into high performance ski equipment is a logical progression for a brand from a country where skiing is instinctive.

The collection, featuring helmets, goggles, waterproof layers, and thermal base layers, is presented in neutral shades of cream, cocoa, and black. This ski capsule, created in collaboration with Sweet Protection, elevates the visual style of ski clothing.

Discussing luxury skiwear today means recognising its increasing cultural significance. What used to be a niche category has expanded into streetwear, high fashion, and the wider luxury market: Miu Miu has embraced balaclavas and moon boots, Loro Piana has long excelled in alpine cashmere essentials; however, Holzweiler doesn't merely draw inspiration from ski culture, it embodies ski culture.

Beyond the slopes, AW25 elevates Nordic dressing codes with its effortless tailoring, oversized scarves, flannel shirts, and alpaca wool jumpers featuring this season’s Landscape motif, creating a collection that effortlessly blends function and style.

Holzweiler has established itself as a global leader in cold weather fashion, a status achieved through years of refinement. From its beginnings with cashmere scarves to its development into a comprehensive outerwear brand, it occupies a unique position: neither purely streetwear nor purely luxury, but seamlessly both.

For AW25, Holzweiler is not reinventing the alpine wardrobe.

It is refining it to its essence.
