Exciting Collaboration with Vans x Opening Ceremony New Capsule Range

Joining forces, we introduce the exciting collaboration between the prominent retailers - Vans & Opening Ceremony. They recently released their latest debut full range selection of footwear, accessories and apparel.

Talented founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim of Opening Ceremony have put their creative minds to work on a first-time global collab range by reinventing Vans distinctive checkerboard print with unique graphic snake and leopard patterns throughout their new clothing range and Vans Classic shoes.

We pay homage to both retailers Vans and Opening Ceremony for their close partnership since 2014 in aid of celebrating their excellent collaboration and creativity together. With that in mind, two days ago, the launch of two creative retailers have come together again.

Opening Ceremony designer duo Humberto Leon and Carol Lim grew their multi-brand retailer in 2002 by combining their creativity and diversity within the fashion world. Taking inspiration from travelling and their passion for art and fashion, they created a unique space to share their influences with the public. By constructing their products and retails other up and coming brands in their stores, they continued their relationship with the skate brand Vans as a celebration of their collaboration.

The designer duo has used their talents to go above and beyond to boost voices and push limits faced within the fashion industry and disregarding any limitations that stand in their way. At the same time, against all odds, they have continued with a dedicated long-established partnership with Vans, but this time they have expanded their range and taken it further on a global level.

Recreating Vans classic checkerboard print, combined with Leon and Lim’s spin to their new design. The duo begins with Vans’ original deck shoe design as a starting point to produce repeated all-over prints that emphasize the conviction between negative and positive spaces by exploring further the combination between the snake and leopard print of the sole and upper of the shoe.

In the first launch, talented designers produce a range of products like tracksuit inspired jackets with a front zipper closure with a hood and toggle clasp fasteners. Vans x OC leopard print pants bringing a unwind comfy fit with the leopard printed tote bag that adds a final touch to the piece matched with a new fresh rubber Vans x Opening Ceremony symbol.

The creativeness does not stop there! As for the second drop, the designers investigate a new approach to their footwear range presented an orchid and baja blue hints of colour in the uppers and the unique shape of the QLT shoe that brings out Opening Ceremony’s spirit of creative expression.

Producing a new approach to quilted textile uppers and side stitch detailing, this classic shoe consists of metal eyelets, following Van’s original signature identity for rubber outsoles of the shoe. To complete the look, you have the Opening Ceremony patch symbol on the shoe heel.
