Emotional Tribute To Late Derby Rapper K1 With New Single 'Tomorrow'

It’s bittersweet listening to K1's newly posthumous track ‘Tomorrow’ after he recently lost his battle to cancer. Touted as an emerging rapper, K1 hailing from the East Midlands displays a Central Cee-esque flow as he raps over the guitar's stringed instrument.

He dropped his debut single last year ‘Demon’ and then enjoyed a steady run of releases. And despite the attention he received from his newfound fame he struggles to navigate what it means to be known and how it impacted his relationships.

On the introspective 'Tomorrow' he explores those themes previously mentioned and much more as he deep dives into his own past actions and weighs the reprecussions felt by them.

Embracing a realistic but melancholy approach to his relationship he doesn’t hold back in his evaluation. His penetrating lyricism also holds him accountable, before narrowing his focus to his career clearly stating his ambtions.

London born singer KKEDA’s silky vocals on the catchy hook bring you in as she enriches the track with an R&B element, sharing details about the toxic relationship she can't help but always return to.

“On behalf of K1’s family and management team, although we are still processing his loss, we are committed to continuing his legacy just as he intended. Music meant everything to K1 and our aim is to share it over the coming year with all the people who supported his dream.

He wanted to release ‘Tomorrow’ as his next single and at the time of filming, K1 suggested using a double as he wasn’t well enough to shoot the video. K1 impact on people’s lives as a person and as an artist cannot be stated enough, on the social media platform TikTok the derby-born rapper has over 25k followers, as well as 16k on Instagram. His also music reached over 300,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

Completing his album before he passed, K1 prophetically raps on the track “Before I leave this world I have a story to tell” as if he knew he’d leave the world too soon. The album is rumoured to drop next year.
