Ellesse Steps in to Luxury with the LSR Sneaker

For decades, Ellesse has been synonymous with Italian sports fashion—bridging the gap between athletic performance and casual street style. Now, in celebration of its 65th anniversary, the brand is making an audacious leap into the luxury fashion space with the LSR sneaker. Drawing on its rich archive, Ellesse has crafted a shoe that blends classic design with modern flair, offering a fresh take on what it means to wear luxury.

At first glance, the LSR looks like it’s built for the catwalk, but it’s rooted in a legacy of sporty, functional footwear. Kit Price, alongside DJ Fiona Zanetti and content creator D’nieccio, headline the new campaign, which is set against the backdrop of a sprawling 20th-century Italian villa.

In a scene that cleverly plays on old-world exclusivity, the LSR is served on a silver tray by Price, symbolising the shoe's elevated status. The shoe is a statement  that effortlessly blends comfort, style, and heritage into something distinctly luxurious.

The LSR is Ellesse's way of reimagining its past while planting a flag in the future. At its core, the design is inspired by one of the brand’s most iconic sneakers—the LASER—but the LSR is not simply a throwback. Instead, it’s a contemporary evolution of that classic style, refined for modern wardrobes that demand both versatility and polish.

The sneaker arrives in four distinct categories—LUXE, DNA, ARCHIVE, and POP—each channelling a different facet of Ellesse's legacy, and available in a total of eleven unique colourways.

The LUXE range stands out for its elevated materials and sophisticated detailing. Rendered in premium suede, the LUXE styles come in Black, Off-White/Grey, and Off-White/Tomato, offering a sleek silhouette accented with laser debossed lines and a non-slip rubber sole. These colourways are a nod to timeless luxury—subdued yet undeniably stylish, the kind of shoe you can wear from day to night without missing a beat.

For those looking for a bolder touch, the DNA and ARCHIVE styles reimagine the original LASER OG sneaker with a more contemporary feel. The DNA range, available in White/Royal/Silver and White/Green/Silver, plays with the iconic Ellesse colour palette of electric blue, red, and green, while ARCHIVE keeps it minimal with clean, monochromatic options like White/Anthracite and White/Red. Both lines stay true to Ellesse's sporting heritage but feel thoroughly modern in their approach.

Then there’s the POP collection, which brings a playful energy to the LSR’s otherwise restrained aesthetic. Featuring pastel hues like Light Green, Light Blue, Tofu, and Lilac, the POP styles cater to a younger, more experimental crowd, or anyone looking to inject a little colour into their wardrobe. These unisex sneakers are designed to be versatile enough for anyone—adding a fresh, carefree vibe to an already diverse collection.

But beyond the aesthetics, the LSR is grounded in the ethos of comfort as luxury. Designed and hand-finished in Italy, the sneaker is built with meticulous attention to detail—think high-grade materials, superior craftsmanship, and a fit that prioritises comfort without sacrificing style. From the sleek silhouette to the intricate pattern cutting, each element of the LSR reflects Ellesse's commitment to quality. It’s a tribute to the brand’s founder, Leonardo Servardio, who pioneered the blending of tailoring and sportswear back in the day.

Ultimately, the LSR sneaker is a signal of Ellesse's future. By tapping into its history and infusing it with a luxury sensibility, Ellesse is repositioning itself for a new era. The sneaker world is crowded with collaborations and hype drops, but with the LSR, Ellesse is carving out its own lane—one where luxury doesn’t have to scream, but simply exists in the craftsmanship, the design, and the legacy.

As Ellesse steps into the next chapter of its storied history, the LSR marks a pivotal moment. It’s a nod to the past, sure, but more importantly, it’s a look toward the future—where comfort, style, and craftsmanship converge to create something truly special. And if this is what luxury sportswear looks like in 2025, we’re all for it.
