Dankie Sounds Hosts a Priceless Weekend of Fun Across the Party Island of Ibiza!

Dankie Sounds has quickly become one of London’s hottest amapiano events and has rapidly taken the world by storm, holding parties in Ghana, Dubai, Amsterdam, and Malta. For the second year running Dankie Sounds has had another triumphant weekend in Ibiza. Acts such as Major League DJs, Juls, Skyla Tylaa, Terminal 4 and an extraordinary surprise DJ set from the legend that is Black Coffee were amongst the stellar lineup of DJs and instrumentalists. The Dankie Sounds weekend was truly one to remember!

It was firstly so refreshing to see how Dankie Sounds has already become a gateway to black nightlife in Ibiza, an island which is typically known to host events that amplify EDM and house music, Dankie Sounds has successfully transported fans of Ampiano, Deep House, Gqom and everything else in between to the party destination of Ibiza, hosting events at some of the islands infamous venues including Ibiza Rocks Bar, Playa Soleil, Eden NightClub and ES Paradis.

The Dankie Sounds experience consisted of delicious brunches, evening boat parties, and after-parties that went on until the sun came up. A standout moment for me was Day 2, overlooking the coastline and located at the sleek beach club of Playa Soleil. This was personally where the real fun started. Everyone really showed out with their fits, the energy was high, and people were grooving.

The lineup for this day was out of this world as South African DJ Kelvin Momo played the best in amapiano, piano tech and deep house, during his set attendees witnessed Dankie Sounds history with Grammy Award Winning DJ/Producer Black Coffee making a special guest appearance. Beloved for his explosive electronic edits and signature South African flavour, Black Coffee exceeded expectations during his iconic set. Homegrown talent such as Muva T and super producer Juls lit up Playa Soleil, with crowd-pleasing genres like Bashment, Amapiano and a splash of Hip Hop to fill the space. Terminal 4 was also on hand to keep the crowd grooving and vibing, chanting ‘Can you feel it…yeah boy’, the vibes didn’t end at Playa Soleil, as those who had stamina swiftly made their way to the euphoric nightclub Eden for the penultimate after party, welcomed by the sweet sounds of Kabza De Small - Asibe Happy, Young Stunna - Adiwele alongside tracks by Tyler ICU and DJ Maphorisa with people moving to every beat and putting in their best footwork and the iconic Major League DJ’s closing

The final day came too quickly, but it was one to look forward to as ES Paradis held a pool party for all, beloved Afrobeats, Bashment, and Amapiano played. DJs carefully selected the perfect tracklist, the live band filled the room with pure energy from the pianist to the guitarist, and the dancers amplified the experience even further with everyone throwing their large glow sticks in the air, the last day of Dankie Sounds was one for the books with DJ Tunez, DJ Phalphane and more shutting it down.

An event which started in 2021 with just under 200 partygoers, Dankie Sounds has come a long way, expanding into an international event which has now seen over 1800 attendees over the years across venues such as Studio 338, Here at Outernet, Boxpark and beyond, it’ll be interesting to see how Dankie Sounds top this explosive year.

Dankie Sounds Ibiza is the definition of Black Joy in the Sun with smiles all around - a legendary weekend that should not be missed next year. Ibiza owes me nothing, it really is Dankie Sounds to The World!
