D Block Europe is back with their latest album, ‘Rolling Stone’, just half a year after dropping their EP. The dynamic duo, comprised of Young Adz and Dirtbike LB, starts the new year with a 15-track song list. Having achieved early success in the mid-2010s, the pair has steadily climbed the ladder of global fame, earning a reputation as the UK’s standout artists, the South London collective boasts an impressive live history, having sold out multiple headline shows at Alexandra Palace and the O2 Arena, in addition to earning six Platinum singles, six Gold mixtapes, over 5 billion global streams, and 30 top 40 singles, all while operating under an independent label.

Reminiscing back to their earlier days, the new project gives those of us who have listened and followed the pair's journey a larger perspective on where their latest project falls short when venturing into new rap territories. Despite this, their strive for global stardom shows that sticking to their original roots can serve them well.

From the initial stages of their solo careers to the formation of D Block Europe, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB were destined for worldwide recognition. They consistently stayed ahead of the curve throughout their journey as a duo, adopting styles like wave trap music akin to transatlantic rappers. Their comfort in rhyming about luxury purchases and love interests has garnered them immense support from a loyal fan base.

Acknowledging their musical prowess, including the noteworthy mixtape 'Any Minute Now,' their latest debut album arrives just six months after ‘DBE World’. It is evident that the duo understands their fans' preferences and consistently delivers, their single success ‘Pakistan’ featuring Clavish gave the DBE fans something to anticipate over. Rolling Stone starts off strong with their opening track ‘I Need it Now’ and showcases their trademark lyricism and unwavering ability to produce lively and memorable hits, demonstrating that the duo excels at providing tracks that resonate with audiences across various environments.

Rolling Stone showcases some of the duo's most diverse beat transitions compared to their entire musical catalogue., moving through the album to explore their more creative singles including ‘Pink Lemonade’ featuring DBE’s all-star collaborator Yxng Bane, the single almost gives us an insight and a reminder of the lifestyle that the duo and Bane obtain.

D-Block Europe has truly hit its stride and trademark as one of the UK’s notably successful rappers, with their awareness in understanding the preferences of its supporters, excelling in its strengths, and confidently staying within that zone. There's a sense of ease, with little concern about pushing the boundaries of their artistry or the genre they've been at the forefront of for more than half a decade.
