(CPHFW) REMAIN SS25: Sculpting the Heroine's Form

The REMAIN Spring-Summer 2025 collection, titled “SUPERBODY,” explores the intricate relationship between fashion and the female form, presenting garments that both construct and empower. With a focus on the interplay between structure and fluidity, this collection is a tribute to the modern heroine—a figure who is as analytical as she is emotive, as decisive as she is reflective.

Drawing inspiration from the fitness culture of the 1980s and the minimal, body-centric style of the 1990s, Creative Director Martin Asbjørn has masterfully intertwined these two distinct eras. The result is a collection that combines the exaggerated tailoring and vibrant energy of the 80s with the sleek, polished silhouettes of the 90s. Snatched waists, tailored shoulders, and elongated shapes are emphasised with sheer and shiny fabrics, such as translucent silk organza and gauzy, pleated knitwear reminiscent of origami.

The colour palette reflects the natural gradient of a Scandinavian summer sunset, transitioning from rich chocolate brown and cinnamon red to salmon pink, dove grey, and deep navy blue. Pops of creamy white hues add a touch of freshness, perfectly complementing the collection’s refined yet powerful aesthetic.

Presented within the raw, urban space of TAP1, the REMAIN runway show contrasts the industrial exterior with a majestic tent draped in soft curtains, creating a striking balance between harshness and softness. This setting underscores the collection’s theme of contrasts, where the contemporary heroine navigates the dualities of her existence with grace and strength.

Accompanying the garments is a custom-made line of shoes by Anny Nord, featuring refined pumps with a unique banana-shaped heel. The collection is further enhanced by classic clasp handbags in colours ranging from baby blue to bright tomato red, crafted from soft cow skin. Sculptural jewellery by New York brand AGMES adorns the runway looks, consolidating the collection’s cohesive vision of empowerment through fashion.

In "SUPERBODY," REMAIN offers a powerful statement on the female form, where clothing becomes a tool for self-definition and empowerment. This collection is not just about dressing the body but about celebrating the heroine within, a woman who claims ownership of her form and becomes her own protagonist.
